(Imam Bukhari narrates that) Sulaiman bin Harb narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Wasil Al-Ahdab, from Al-Ma'rur, he said:

I met Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allāh be pleased with him) at Rabadhah; he was wearing a fine cloak, and his slave was also wearing a fine cloak. I asked him the reason for this. He said: I once insulted a man, and reproached him regarding his mother. So the Prophet ﷺ said to me: O Abu Dharr! Did you reproach him regarding his mother? You are a person who has a trait of Jahiliyyah in him. Your servants are your brothers; Allāh has placed them under your authority. So whoever has his brother under his authority should feed him what he himself eats, and clothe him with what he himself wears, and do not burden them with work that is difficult for them; and if you burden them with work that is difficult for them, then help them (with it).
