‘Abdullāh ibn Muḥammad reported to us, he said: Yaḥyā ibn Ādam reported to us, he said: Zuhayr reported to us from Abū Isḥāq, who said:
Abū Ja’far narrated to us that he and his father were with Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allāh be content with him), and there were other people with him as well. They asked Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh about Ghusl. He said: “One ṣā’ (approximately four litres of water) is sufficient for you.” A man said: “That is not enough for me.” Jābir replied: “It was sufficient for one who had more hair than you and was better than you.” Then Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh led us in prayer wearing a single garment.
