(Imam Bukhārī said:) Al-Ḥumaydī-ʿAbdullāh-bin-al-Zubayr narrated to us, he said: Sufyān narrated to us, he said: Yaḥyā bin Saʿīd al-Anṣārī narrated to us, he said: Muḥammad bin Ibrāhīm al-Taymiyy informed me that he heard from ʿAlqama bin Waqqāṣ al-Laythiyya, who used to say: I heard ʿUmar bin al-Khaṭṭāb (may Allah be pleased with him) say upon the pulpit that I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say that

"Deeds depend only upon intentions, and every person will get the result of his deed according to what he intended. So whoever's migration was towards the world, which he wants to attain, or towards a woman, whom he wants to marry, then his migration will be counted towards that which he intended to migrate towards."
