Sub-Chapter (Baab)

Sahih Al Bukhari 194

Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates: Abū al-Walīd narrated to us; he said: Shu’bah narrated to us, from Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir, who said:

I heard Jābir ibn ʿAbdullāh - may Allāh Almighty be content with both of them - saying: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to visit me while I was ill and unconscious. He performed wuḍūʾ and then poured the water of his wuḍūʾ over me, and I regained consciousness. I said, “O Messenger of Allāh, to whom will my inheritance go? I have no heir except kalālah (i.e., no direct ascendants or descendants).” Then the verse concerning the laws of inheritance (farāʾiḍ) was revealed.
