Imām al-Bukhārī - upon whom be mercy - narrates: Ādam narrated to us; he said: Shu’bah narrated to us; he said: al-Ḥakam narrated to us;

he said: I heard Ḥaḍrat Abū Juḥayfah - may Allāh Almighty be content with him - saying that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ came out to us at midday. Wuḍū’ water was brought to him, and he performed Wuḍū’. The people then rushed to take the remaining water of his Wuḍū’ and began rubbing it over themselves. Then the Prophet ﷺ prayed two rak’ahs of Ẓuhr and two rak’ahs of ‘Aṣr, and a spear (planted in the ground) was placed in front of him.
