Al-Imām al-Bukhārī - upon whom be mercy - narrates: Ādam ibn Abī Ilyās narrated to us; he said: Shu’bah narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Ziyād narrated to us; he said:

I heard Sayyidunā Abū Hurayrah - may Allāh Almighty be content with him - as he passed by us while people were performing ablution from a water vessel. He said: “Perform ablution thoroughly and completely, for Abū al-Qāsim ﷺ has said: ‘Woe to the heels from the punishment of the Fire!’”
