Sub-Chapter (Baab)

Sahih Al Bukhari 133

Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates: Qutaybah ibn Sa’īd narrated to me; he said: al-Layth ibn Sa’d narrated to us; he said: Nāfi’, the freed slave of ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (may Allāh Almighty be content with him),

narrated from ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (may Allāh Almighty be content him): A man stood up in the mosque and said: “O Messenger of Allāh, from where do you command us to enter into iḥrām?” The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “The people of Madīnah should enter into iḥrām from Dhū al-Ḥulayfah; the people of Shām from al-Juḥfah; and the people of Najd from Qarn.” And ‘Umar (may Allāh Almighty be content with him) said: “People claim that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ also said: The people of Yemen should enter into iḥrām from Yalamlam.”

Ibn ‘Umar used to say: “I did not understand (i.e. I did not hear or confirm) this from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.”
