Sub-Chapter (Baab)

Sahih Al Bukhari 126

Al-Imām al-Bukhārī narrates: ‘Ubaydullāh ibn Mūsā narrated to us, from Isrā’īl, from Abū Isḥāq,

from al-Aswad, who said: ‘Abdullāh ibn al-Zubayr (may Allāh Almighty be content with him) said to me: “ʿĀ’ishah (may Allāh Almighty be content with her) used to tell you many confidential matters. What did she tell you regarding the Ka’bah?” He said: ‘Ā’ishah told me that the Prophet ﷺ said to her: “O ‘Ā’ishah! If your people had not been so close to the time of jāhiliyyah”— Ibn al-Zubayr said: meaning, close to disbelief— “I would have demolished the Ka’bah and rebuilt it, and I would have made two doors for it: one door through which people would enter, and another door through which they would exit.” Then Ibn al-Zubayr rebuilt the Ka’bah in that very manner.
