(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Adam narrated the hadith to us, he said: Ibn Abi Dhi'b narrated the hadith to us, he said: Sa'id al-Maqburi narrated the hadith to us, from his father, from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Allāh be pleased with him), that the Prophet ﷺ said:
It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allāh and the Last Day that she undertake a journey of one day and one night without a Mahram.
Ibn Abi Dhi'b has been corroborated by Yahya bin Abi Kathir and Suhail and Malik, from al-Maqburi, from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Allāh be pleased with him).
حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ قَالَ
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ مَسِيرَةَ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ لَيْسَ مَعَهَا حُرْمَةٌ. تَابَعَهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، وَسُهَيْلٌ، وَمَالِكٌ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ.
