(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Abū al-Walīd narrated to us, he said: Zā'idah narrated to us, he said: Ziyād ibn 'Ilāqah narrated to us, he said: I heard al-Mughīrah ibn Shu'bah, may Allāh be pleased with him, saying that on the day Ibrāhīm, may Allāh be pleased with him, (his son) died, the people said: The sun has been eclipsed because of the death of Ibrāhīm. Then the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allāh; they are not eclipsed because of anyone's death, nor because of anyone's life. So when you see them, make du'ā' to Allāh and pray, until the sun becomes uncovered.
