(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Abdullah bin Yusuf narrated the hadith to us, he said: Imam Malik informed us, from Sharik bin Abdullah bin Abi Namr, from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (Allāh be pleased with him), he narrates that
a man came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, so he said: "O Messenger of Allāh! The livestock have perished and the roads have been cut off, so pray to Allāh." So he ﷺ prayed to Allāh, then it rained upon us from one Jumu'ah to the next Jumu'ah. Then a man came to the Prophet ﷺ, so he said: "O Messenger of Allāh! The houses have fallen down, the roads have been cut off, and the livestock have perished." So the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ supplicated: "O Allāh! Upon the backs of the mountains and upon the hillocks and in the bellies of the valleys and in the places where trees grow (send down rain)!" So Madinah was cut off from the rain just like a cloth is cut.
