(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Ismail narrated the hadith to us, he said: Imam Malik narrated the hadith to me, from Sharik bin Abdullah bin Abi Namr, from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (Allāh be pleased with him), he narrated that
a man came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, so he said: "O Messenger of Allāh! The livestock have perished and the roads have been cut off, so pray to Allāh." So the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ supplicated, then it rained from one Jumu'ah to the next Jumu'ah. Then a man came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, so he said: "O Messenger of Allāh! The houses have fallen down, the roads have been cut off, and the livestock have perished." So the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ supplicated: "O Allāh! Upon the tops of the mountains and upon the hillocks and in the bellies of the valleys and in the places where trees grow." So Madinah was cut off (from the rain) just as a cloth is cut off.
