(Imām Bukhārī narrates): Abdullah bin Maslamah narrated the hadith to us, from Imam Malik, from Sharik bin Abdullah, from Hazrat Anas (Allāh be pleased with him), he said that
a man came to the Prophet ﷺ, so he said: "The livestock have perished and the roads have been cut off." So he ﷺ supplicated, then it kept raining upon us from one Jumu'ah to the next Jumu'ah. Then that man came, so he said: "The houses have fallen down and the roads have been cut off and the livestock have perished, so pray to Allāh that He hold back this rain." Then the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ stood up, so he supplicated: "O Allāh! Send down rain upon the hillocks and upon the hills and upon the valleys and upon the places where trees grow!" So the rain was cut off from Madinah just as a cloth is cut off.
